Barranquilla's carnival & Mardi Gras




1. Barranquilla's carnival and Mardi Gras are similar in several ways. Barranquilla's carnival is one of the most important celebration in its country, so is Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

2. Barranquilla's carnival is one of the biggest carnivals in the world, and Mardi Gras is too.

3. In the Barranquilla's carnival, they crown a queen, and in Mardi Gras do too.

4. In other ways, Barranquilla's carnival and Mardi Gras are different. Barranquilla's carnival begins 4 days before Ash wednessday, but Mardi Gras doesn't; It changes of date every year.

5. Barranquilla's carnival is influenced by spanish, African and Indians, but Mardi Gras isn't; Mardi Gras is just influenced by Indians.

6. The first carnival of Barranquilla was in 1813, but Mardi Gras wasn't; It was in 1857.

7. People love these carnivals for that reason in Barranquilla's carnival, they celebrate all day long, so do they in Mardi Gras.

Are you a giver or a taker? In every workplace, there are three basic kinds of people: givers, takers and matchers, that is the introduction Adam Grant make in this TED TALK. We find Paranoia everywhere; paranoia is caused by people Adam called “Takers”. Takers are self-serving  in their interactions, you know, people just worried with one's own interests. It’s all about what can you do for me? The opposite its a giver, somebody who approaches interactions by asking what can I do for you? My learning process

My learning process I think my weakness are listening and vocabulary because sometimes I find so difficult to retain all what someone say me. I consider my strenght are reading and writing because I develop them easier than the others skills. In order to improve my english level I will read more, I will practice my speacking skills and also listening with the help of videos on youtube. I consider that my learning during the first term has been very well because I have learnt a lots, I feel, I have gained confident when I have to speak in english.
